Proposals

Spitfire Homes seeks to create a sustainable development that addresses Bromsgrove District’s housing needs while seamlessly integrating with the existing community.

Our proposals

  • Delivery of 47 high-quality new homes as part of the premium Spitfire Homes Bespoke Collection.
  • Provision of 50% affordable homes, helping local people to access quality housing and get on the housing ladder.
  • Open-market house types including a mix of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bed properties to suit a wide range of potential owners such as first time buyers, downsizers and growing families alike.
  • Improvements to Bradford Lane to ensure pedestrian safety.
  • New and enhanced pedestrian routes to the village, connecting with the existing Public Right of Way to the north of the site.

Masterplan

Our emerging Masterplan has been designed taking consideration of the landscape features of the site, including existing boundaries and vegetation.

The site has been carefully designed to fit around the school’s boundaries, ensuring privacy for the school and new and current residents.

Great effort has been taken to blend our new development with the current natural features of the site and to create new biodiverse habitats for local wildlife.

Existing large trees will be retained and protected wherever possible during construction to maintain the natural character of the site’s vegetation and break up sightlines into the development. At the south of the site, new ecologically focused habitats have been woven into the site’s boundaries, forming a new diffuse border that blends into the surrounding landscape.

As the masterplan shows, this site has been meticulously designed to form a sustainable and green extension to Belbroughton, blending seamlessly with bordering sites.

Affordable Housing for Local People

50% of new homes at Bradford Lane will be delivered as affordable homes. This will include a mix of affordable tenures to address the housing needs of the local area, in agreement with Bromsgrove District Council.

Case Study:

Spitfire Homes have used a ‘Discounted Market Value’ scheme in recent projects delivered as part of the Bespoke Collection to help local people access high quality homes that would ordinarily be outside of their budget.

The scheme means that eligible buyers are able to purchase select properties at 80% of open market value. To qualify for one of the Discounted Market Value homes, applicants must initially meet a set of pre-defined criteria, including geographic proximity to the site, helping to provide homes for local people.

Quote from a customer using the Discount Market Value Scheme at Spitfire’s Ellenbrook development.

What our customers have to say:

“Without Spitfire Homes’ use of the Discounted Market Value scheme at Ellenbrook, affording a home in this area would have been out of reach. Thanks to the scheme, I was able to purchase a beautifully built house in a community I love, and I feel incredibly lucky to live here.”
